Dear Friend,

As Thanksgiving approaches, we want to celebrate all of the people who make a difference in the lives of others. What we are most thankful for, all year-round, is you. Your support gives Guatemalan children hope for a brighter future. See for yourself how excited we get when we have good news to share about how you, our supporters, are investing in education!

Join us in Guatemala

Experience Firsthand the Impact You Make

Catch a glimpse of CoEd's programs in Guatemala by joining us on a Snapshot Tour.

Join us for our February 19-24 Snapshot Tour for a memorable vacation and the chance to change lives. Experience the vibrant Mayan culture and breathtaking landscape as you meet the Guatemalan children who benefit from CoEd's projects.

If that’s not incentive enough, maybe our next Snapshot Tour Media Fellow can change your mind. You may have seen him surviving in the jungles of Venezuela on the Discovery Channel, or trekking though the Himalays on National Geographic. Find out who is joining us in Guatemala on our blog!

While you're at it, read what our travel blogger friends at Beers & Beans are saying about their Snapshot Tour experience, and why they are now taking dare requests to raise money for CoEd's programs. Don’t miss out on the adventure of a lifetime. Sign up for CoEd’s February 19-24 Snapshot Tour today!

Meet Jon and Julia

CoEd Supporter Superstars

Jon and Julia show their love for Guatemala on a CoEd tour.

In honor of National Philanthropy Day, we thought it appropriate to recognize two of our very special supporters, Jon Halperin and Julia Ruiz. Here are a few things you should know about them:

  1. Jon was on LA Ink
  2. They traveled on a CoEd Tour in 2010
  3. Their apartment was featured on the popular blog Apartment Therapy
  4. They got married last weekend and invited everyone—including their building's janitor
  5. Jon and Julia did NOT register at Target

Then where, do you ask, were they registered? At CoEd, of course! Rather than registering for kitchen utensils and bedsheets, Jon and Julia have raised almost $6,000 to date, and the gifts keep coming in! Want to help them reach their goal of $10,000? visit their page on CoEd's website.

Thanks, Jon and Julia, for using your wedding to make an impact. Your generosity is providing countless children in Guatemala the chance to break the cycle of poverty. You truly are CoEd superstars!

Who do you need to shop for this holdiay season? Whoever it may be, we know where you can find the perfect gift while simultaneously helping CoEd! Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer of handcrafted goods, has agreed to donate 15% of all purchases made from 10am-5pm on Saturday, November 17th to CoEd. Cincinnati friends, stop by the O'Bryonville location, find some unique gifts, and mention at the check-out that you're shopping for Cooperative for Education.

  • When: Saturday, November 17th, 10am-5pm
  • Where: Ten Thousand Villages (2011 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45208)
  • Why: To support CoEd!
  • What to say at check-out: “I’m shopping for Cooperative for Education!”

Don't forget, you can always use our Amazon link when shopping online year-round, too, and CoEd will receive 6% of your total purchase price. Happy shopping!
