Catching up with Brenda

Some of you may remember Brenda, whose face, along with CoEd's name, was plastered on billboards all throughout Guatemala in 2010. So what is she doing now?

Dear Friend,
Happy New Year from everyone at CoEd! Thank you for all of your support this past year—support that has given educational opportunities to so many. Join us in making 2013 a great year for the children of Guatemala!
Read on to find out if CoEd's newest endorsement is as cool as a bag of all blue M&Ms...

Guatemala's Ministry of Education Endorses CoEd!
Building credibility for CoEd's programs
Members of CoEd's Guatemala team attend the endorsement ceremony.
What's cooler than having your educational programs recognized and endorsed by Guatemala's Ministry of Education?! NOTHING. Okay, fine, there might be a few things that are more awesome (like hiking the Inca Trail or discovering a bag of all blue M&Ms), but this is pretty dang cool too.
Let's delve a bit deeper into what this means, shall we? Last year, our Guatemala staff worked tirelessly all year long putting together a proposal to Guatemala's Ministry of Education in order to gain certification for CoEd's programs. They had to compile detailed information about every teacher receiving training, explain all of our programs in-depth, and even coordinate several field visits for the Ministry to visit various CoEd program schools. All of their hard work paid off, and in November 2012, CoEd's programs received official Ministry of Education certification!
